Welcome to the IDR @ NISER, Bhubaneswar
The NISER Institutional Repository has been created by the Central Library, NISER to showcase, organize, share, and preserve the scholarly output of National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar. The Repository is designed to facilitate scholarly communication by providing access to the knowledge resources created by NISER and preserving the same for future generations of scholars. This repository is running on Dspace, an open source software platform, and facilitates its users with advance searching and browsing options.

Six complexes of types [Cu(NTA)Na(H2O)]n 1, [Cu(H2NTA)2]H2O 2, [Cu3(C2O4)2(bpy)3(H2O)2](NO3)2 3, [Cu6Na4(NTA)2(μ-O)2(bpy)6(H2O)4(NO3)2]·3H2O 4, [Cu2(C2O4)(phen)2(NO3)2] 5, and [Cu(phen)2(Cl)](NO3)2(H2O) 6 (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridyl, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, H3NTA = nitrilotriacetic acid and C2O42− = oxalate) were synthesized and characterized using elemental analysis, spectroscopic (IR, UV–Vis and ESR), single crystal X-ray diffraction, cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetric tec...
A variety of mechanisms contribute to the viral-bacterial synergy which results in fatal secondary bacterial respiratory infections. Epidemiological investigations have implicated physical and psychological stressors as factors contributing to the incidence and severity of respiratory infections and psychological stress alters host responses to experimental viral respiratory infections. The effect of stress on secondary bacterial respiratory infections has not, however, been investigated. A n...
Natural products with medicinal value are gradually gaining importance in clinical research due to their well-known property of no side effects as compared to drugs. Tinospora cordifolia commonly named as “Guduchi” is known for its immense application in the treatment of various diseases in the traditional ayurvedic literature. Recently the discovery of active components from the plant and their biological function in disease control has led to active interest in the plant across the globe. O...
GEM detectors are used in high energy physics experiments given their good spatial resolution, high rate capability and radiation hardness. An international collaboration is investigating the possibility of covering the 1.6 < |η| < 2.4 region of the CMS muon endcaps with large-area triple-GEM detectors. The CMS high-η area is actually not fully instrumented, only Cathode Strip Chamber (CSC) are installed. The vacant area presents an opportunity for a detector technology able to to cope with t...
Plants are a rich source for immunomodulatory substances which are capable of activating or regulating mammalian immune response. Here we have studied the effects of aqueous crude extracts of two weed plants inhabiting the Chilika lake ecosystem of Orissa, India, Gracilaria verrucosa and Potamogeton pectinatus on T cell activation status. Flow cytometric analysis of T cell activation status by analysing cell viability and expression of early activation marker CD69 indicated that crude extract...
We formulate target space duality symmetry of NSR superstring from the perspectives of worldsheet. The worldsheet action is presented in the superspace formalism in the presence of massless backgrounds. We start from a -dimensional target space worldsheet action and compactify the theory on a d-dimensional torus, Td. It is assumed that the backgrounds are independent of compact (super)coordinates. We adopt the formalism of our earlier work to introduce dual supercoordinates along compact dire...
BCR-ABL kinase inhibitors have dramatically improved treatment of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Nevertheless, the disease is associated with genomic instability, resulting in unresponsiveness to ABL inhibitors and resistance ensues, indicating a need for additional therapeutic options. CML and other malignancies are associated with metabolic reprogramming, allowing transformed cells to cover their enhanced energy needs and to provide biomolecules for anabolic processes. The me...
Steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence behavior of C-153 in neat ultra hydrophobic 1-(2-methoxyethyl)-1-methylpyrrolidinium tris(pentafluoroethyl)trifluorophosphate and its mixture with toluene has been investigated. Steady-state absorption and emission spectral behavior of C-153 is found not to be affected by the nonpolar cosolvent. Time-resolved fluorescence anisotropy measurements show that the rotational diffusion of the probe becomes faster in presence of toluene. Solvation dynamics...
Cationic palladium and nickel complexes have been found to catalyze the ring-opening of meso-N-aryl aziridines with anilines very efficiently and furnish valuable 1,2-diamines in typically excellent yields. The active catalysts were generated in situ from the corresponding metal dichloride bis(triphenylphosphine) complexes through chloride abstraction with a silver salt. This new protocol is applicable across a broad substrate range with both cyclic as well as acyclic aziridines. In addition,...
Conducting polymers (CPs) have drawn considerable attention because of their economical importance, good environmental stability and electrical conductivity as well as due to their useful mechanical, optical and electronic properties. Some of the widest applications of conducting polymers include: they are used in electrostatic materials, conducting adhesives, electromagnetic shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI), artificial nerves, aircraft structures, diodes, and transistors....
