The kinetic features of the redox reaction between sodium tetrahydroborate and copper(II) ions in buffered aqueous acidic medium have been studied. The rate of the reaction was first order in the concentrations of each of the reactants. Evidence has been presented for the formation of cuprous hydride. A plausible mechanism for the reaction has been suggested.en_US
