Abstract: In this report, we will begin by briefly reviewing some basic background in Feynman Vernon and chwinger-Keldysh formalisms adapted to the study of open quantum field theories. Thereafter we will describe the results of some triangle one-loop cal culations in scalar open SK theory. We find that the triangle (C-type) diagrams have non-local divergence similar to the divergence in cut B-type diagrams that were observed earlier. We then proceed to develop diagnostics for non-local divergence as well as determine their exact structure in arbitrary one-loop diagrams in open scalar field theories. In the penultimate chapter, we give a broad-brush overview of our results and discuss various issues that underlie this problem. We conclude with our current outlook and reflect on some exciting future directions .
