Welcome to the IDR @ NISER, Bhubaneswar
The NISER Institutional Repository has been created by the Central Library, NISER to showcase, organize, share, and preserve the scholarly output of National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar. The Repository is designed to facilitate scholarly communication by providing access to the knowledge resources created by NISER and preserving the same for future generations of scholars. This repository is running on Dspace, an open source software platform, and facilitates its users with advance searching and browsing options.

At present, part of the forward RPC muon system of the CMS detector at the CERN LHC remains uninstrumented in the high-η region. An international collaboration is investigating the possibility of covering the 1.6 < |η| < 2.4 region of the muon endcaps with large-area triple-GEM detectors. Given their good spatial resolution, high rate capability, and radiation hardness, these micro-pattern gas detectors are an appealing option for simultaneously enhancing muon tracking and triggering capabili...
In the paper, conditions are obtained, in terms of coefficient functions, which are necessary as well as sufficient for non-oscillation/oscillation of all solutions of self-adjoint linear homogeneous equations of the form ∆(pn−1∆yn−1)+qyn = 0, n ⩾ 1, where q is a constant. Sufficient conditions, in terms of coefficient functions, are obtained for non-oscillation of all solutions of nonlinear non-homogeneous equations of the type ∆(pn−1∆yn−1)+qng(yn) = fn−1, n ⩾ 1, where, unlike earlier works...
The body defense mechanism has evolved to protect animals from invading pathogenic microorganisms and cancer. It is able to generate a diverse variety of cells and molecules capable of specifically recognizing and eliminating a limitless variety of foreign invaders. These cells and molecules act together in a dynamic network and are known as the immune system. Innate mucosal immunity consists of various recognition receptor molecules, including toll-like receptors, NOD-like receptors, and RIG...
TRP channels are localized at specialized sub-cellular compartments like filopodial tips, ciliary structures, growth cones and spines that have importance in the context of several sensory functions. Several motor proteins largely regulate these localizations. Recent studies indicate that both physical and genetic interactions exist between TRP channels with actin and microtubule-based motor proteins. These two groups of proteins share specialized and fine regulation underlying physiological ...
Problem statement: The ends of chromosome had highly repetitive short G and C-rich sequences of DNA. These sequences were known to form stable tetraplex type of secondary structures which help to maintain gene integratity after cell divison. Approach: Any reagent which controls the random cell division would be useful to design anticancer drugs. Therefore a many natural and synthesized molecules which stabilized tetraplex structures are targeted as anticancer drug entities. Results: Among the...
Josephson junctions with ferromagnetic barriers have been intensively investigated in recent years1. Of particular interest has been the realization of so called π-junctions with a built-in phase difference2, and induced triplet pairing3,4. Such experiments have so far been limited to systems containing metallic ferromagnets. Although junctions incorporating a ferromagnetic insulator (IF) have been predicted to show a range of unique properties including π-shifts with intrinsically low dissip...
Cocaine-andamphetamine-regulatedtranscriptpeptide(CART)hasaroleinchronicpain,andalsointhe actions of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) employed in the treatment of neuropathic pain. Herein, we test the hypothesis that CART may mediate the anti-hyperalgesic effect of the SSRI, fluoxe tine, in neuropathic rats. Sciatic nerve in the right hindpawofratwasligatedtoinduceneuropathicpain, and the paw withdrawal latency was evaluated using Hargreaves apparatus. Fluoxetine [5–25mg...
In this paper, the multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)-polystyrene composite modified Pt electrode that is capable of serving as an efficient electrochemical gas sensor upon direct exposure to trace quantity of toxic gases like SO2 and H2S with distinct electrochemical response is reported. Unlike other CNT-composite modified electrodes this new composite device relies on the use of MWCNTs as the sole conducting component, the other component polystyrene is non-conducting.
Let S =(P,L) be a partial linear space with point set P and line set L. We suppose that S is slim, i.e., that every line of S is incident with precisely three points. For distinct points x,y ∈ P, we write x ∼ y if they are collinear. In that case, we denote by xy the unique line containing x and y and define x ∗y by xy ={x,y,x∗y}.For x ∈P, we define x⊥ :={x}∪{y ∈P :y ∼x}.Ifx,y∈P, then d(x,y)denotes the distance between x and y in the collinearity graph of S.
